Jeffrey represents hospitality industry clients of all types and sizes, from international airlines to multi-unit restaurant concepts to privately-held catering companies. Jeffrey also serves as General Counsel to hospitality industry corporations, LLC’s, and partnerships that rely heavily on his practical business and entrepreneurial experience.  

Jeffrey’s legal experience is as broad and diverse as his client base. Jeffrey has formed LLC's and drafted operating agreements; negotiated asset sales and acquisitions; drafted executive employment and trade secret agreements; conducted HR audits; negotiated commercial leases; and made countless appearances on behalf of clients before state and federal courts, state and federal regulatory agencies, and private arbitrators and mediators. 

Prior to forming Sloan Hospitality Law, Jeffrey was an Equity Partner in the San Francisco office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP and the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Sloan Pratt LLP. In both roles, Jeffrey advised Fortune 500 corporations, start-up companies, high-level executives, and individual entrepreneurs on labor and employment matters.  

In addition to his industry involvement on the legal side, Jeffrey is also personally involved on the owner-operator side. Jeffrey is Co-Founder of Punk's Backyard Grill^®, a fast-casual restaurant concept with its flagship location in Annapolis, MD.  He is also Managing Principal in the San Francisco office of Consequince LLC, a hospitality management and strategic consulting company.
